Definition of IPD: International Patient Department

International Patient Unit (IPD): It is a unit in the hospital whose task is to make the necessary arrangements to provide diagnostic and treatment services to foreign patients.

International patient: is a foreigner who has visited the hospital to receive diagnostic and treatment services.

Medical tourism or health tourism is a trip to another country for the purpose of treatment. One of the reasons for this type of tourism is the lack of similar treatment methods, high costs, and the lack of advanced treatment technologies in the country of origin, on the other hand, due to the appropriate medical tariffs in Iran compared to other countries in the region and the provision of services. Medicine and nursing with international quality, a large number of patients tend to travel to Iran to receive medical services, and this has caused our beloved country to be one of the poles of health tourism in the region.

In Hazrat Zainab (S) hospital, the IPD doctor is responsible for following up all the medical services related to the hospitalized patients through the international patients department. In this hospital, in order to provide faster and better quality services to patients admitted through the international patients department, services are provided outside of the usual schedule. Through advertising in various ways, the most important of which is advertising on the type and quality of services provided in the field of general surgery, ophthalmology and obstetrics, in order to attract foreign patients. Description of ipd doctor's: 1. Visiting the patient in the first hour of hospitalization 2. Coordinating with the attending physician and taking initial orders 3. Coordinating with the head of the department and the nursing office to perform paraclinical procedures and patient consultations as soon as possible. 4. Daily patient visit 5. Coordination with the person in charge of the electronic system and the website of the medical institution to prepare the electronic file. 6. Cooperation with the attending physician to prepare a summary of the patient's case and documents in English 7. Following up on emergency events that may happen to the patient within 24 hours 8. Providing sufficient information to the patient about the patient's complaint and treatment process

8. Carrying out the necessary inter-departmental coordination in the hospital to facilitate and accelerate the provision of services to international patients
9. Evaluation and increase of international patient satisfaction during hospital stay
10. Carrying out the necessary measures and coordination during the discharge of the international patient
11. Making the necessary arrangements with reliable facilitation companies
12. Registration of international patient information in the health tourism system of the Ministry
13. Coordination with the university's health tourism expert
